Who it is for
A young family renting in Kilimani wanted a living room that felt like home without breaking the lease: warm, practical, easy to clean, and nothing that could not move with them.
The design idea
We kept the landlord's floor and white ceiling, washed one wall in a removable clay-tone limewash, and built the room around a low linen sofa, a round mvule coffee table and a kikoy-striped rug. Lighting moved from one ceiling bulb to three soft layers.
What it changes
A room that reads calm and grown-up but still takes juice spills and Lego. Every piece leaves with the family when they move.
Inside the space
In the collections
This is a design concept by Kenya Home Search Studio: an illustrated proposal to show what a space like this could become, not a photograph of a finished home. Please ask before reusing the images.
